So, I really wanted the site's first post to coincide with last week's V premiere, but since that deadline has come and gone I decided we'd start things off with a review of the show that I've watched the longest of any of the shows currently running on television.
One Tree Hill has definitely had it's ups and downs. Last season, I seriously considered changing the channel and giving up on a show which I have watched for years since it's debut. It just wasn't clicking for me anymore. Add to that the news that they were getting rid of two cast members, one of them my personal favorite (Peyton, you will be missed...), and completely revamping the show and I was seriously doubting that OTH would be around much longer. But I'm ecstatic that they ultimately proved me wrong.
This season is making a killing in the ratings, even beating out Gossip Girl, and is one of my favorites yet. And, I have to say, it might just be the new characters (and the lack of old ones) that's doing it for me.

Lately, I've liked to focus on Clay and Quinn, my two favorite new characters. There wasn't much going on with them this week except for them learning to open up to each other and, of course, their kiss on the beach. It was nice to see Clay finally open up to someone after learning his ridiculously sad story and I really like these two as a couple.
Alex, on the other hand, is the one new character that I don't care for. I don't feel like she fits in with the rest of the characters and I can't sympathize with her at all. Not even in this episode, which saw her dealing with her drug problem and being alone. I only ended up resenting her for causing friction between Julian and Brooke, who was having a particularly rough episode after thinking she was pregnant and then finding out that was not the case.
This episode also marked what I consider Haley's musical comeback. Her music career has still been a part of the show, but we haven't seen her sing for a while and seeing her up on stage brought me back to OTH's heyday, even if the song itself didn't really do much for me.
We also see Dan and Rachel's return to Tree Hill, both of them seeking redemption in their own way. For Nathan, Dan's return couldn't have come at a worse time as he is trying to work out his contract to play with the Bobcats for four more years. Nate makes it perfectly clear to Dan that he will never forgive him, despite all of his efforts to get back into Nate's life, but that he will put up with him for Jamie's sake. The night only gets worse when Nathan discovers that the deal Clay was supposed to be setting up has fallen through.
And how about Millie and her craziness? I felt bad for her when she was trying to fit in the modeling world and felt completely out of place, but I thought she was the most rational person in town and would know better than to start taking pills and hitting the party scene. I mean, has she seen Alex? Taking a page out of her book is not a good idea and I would have expected Millie to know better. But alas, this is a teen drama and everyone must have their pitfalls. Millie is no exception.
Overall, I enjoyed this episode. Next week's looks to be really exciting. Will Nathan get to play for the Bobcats again? Will Brooke forgive Julian? Is crazy Dan Scott back once more to terrorize Tree Hill? We'll have to wait and see!
